Spoon rings
In my mind spoon rings are associated with the counter culture of the 1960's. That impression is obviously dated because there is a thriving market for spoon rings on Ebay. As I write this, there are more than 250 for sale there. The list at the bottom of the page shows some of the spoon rings currently for sale. If you click on any of those links you will go directly to that auction.
As I look through the auctions and think about it I can see why that would be the case.
Taken together these factors mean attractive spoon rings can be sold cheaply and still make money for the seller. The buyer gets the value of sterling silver, an antique style, and attractive craftsmanship. It seems like a win for everyone.
Lately however, the precious metals markets have gone through extreme peaks and troughs that impact the spoon market. The silver content of the spoons is sufficiently valueable they not make sesnse as rings.
